The space
When you arrive at 65a Orient Drive, you will be struck by this grand, brilliant white home, which stands out against the blue sky. Enter the property either through the roomy double garage or through the side gate, where there is a quaint, secluded courtyard that captures the afternoon sun. With seating for 4 and an additional bench, this is a delightful area for afternoon drinks.
The large windowed front door allows you to see the ocean straight away before you even set foot inside. The glass balustrades and 2 level voids allow a wonderful flow of natural light throughout, which is enhanced by the reflection on the stunning Spanish limestone tiles.
Next to the entry is the media room, which features a Panasonic projector and huge screen. And with 2 sofas, 2 large armchairs and block-out blinds, you and your guests can enjoy the ultimate cinema experience. Next door is a separate lounge area with a corner sofa that looks out onto the pool.
Take a few steps down to the open plan living space on the lower level, which offers a premium entertaining space. The wall length, bi-fold doors create the perfect indoor/outdoor transition, so that you can take in the wonderful ocean and outdoor views from anywhere.
Below the mezzanine, there’s a lounge area with 2 sofas, a coffee table and a TV. Opposite this is the well-equipped kitchen, featuring granite benchtops, an island bench with 3 bar stools and ample space to get creative. Behind the kitchen is a toilet and the laundry, which opens out onto a deck with a washing line and garage access.
A gorgeous solid wood table and seating for 8 is well positioned next to the bi-fold doors to take in the uninterrupted, serene seascape. Relaxed seating for 4 is on the front deck. Enter the terrace from the family or dining areas to take advantage of the enviable outdoor dining. With seating for 8 and a BBQ next to the lap pool, this is the perfect environment to relax and dine alfresco. The 2 sun loungers, set against a feature wall, are in a great spot to unwind in peace. Access to the pool and garden is from the front terrace and deck, and the front courtyard and outdoor shower can also be accessed from the pool.
Upstairs and into the beautifully lit mezzanine, you will find the huge, main bedroom at the front of the house. The king bed is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the sea view and lush green surrounds. Wall length sliding doors open onto a roomy deck – the idyllic place for morning coffee or an afternoon drink. Behind the bed is a very spacious, fully tiled ensuite, featuring a gorgeous square spa bath, double vanities and walk-in, double shower with a window looking out to sea. This is a truly unique and luxe bathroom experience. Behind the bathroom is a large walk-in robe, which opens out onto a secluded deck.
On the other side of the mezzanine is another gorgeous king bedroom with dramatic high ceilings, a built-in robe and deck, with a more fantastic pool and beach views. The modern, fully tiled ensuite boasts a spacious walk-in corner shower.
Take a few more stairs to the top level, where you will find two bedrooms, both with 2 single beds and built-in wardrobes. The slightly larger room also has pool and sea views. These bedrooms share a modern bathroom, which has a bath and a shower, and a separate toilet.
This divine holiday home is full of gorgeous artwork and invites sea breezes through each level via the glass louvre windows. Airconditioning and ceiling fans are also available throughout the property.
